Board of Trustees

Board of Trustees of the Afghanistan International Academy (AIOA) Trustees are appointed by the academy’s founding board, on the recommendation of the director general and university president, for a two-year term. The founding board may extend this term. Composition: The founding board appoints the following institutional and individual members: 1. The academy’s director general. 2. The university president. 3. Ten distinguished Afghan and international scholars and thinkers familiar with international, academic, research and cultural affairs. Responsibilities: 1. Oversee the academy’s annual educational, research, cultural, executive, financial and accounting performance. 2. Approve internal rules and the necessary regulations, policies and procedures. 3. Oversee the administrative work of the academy’s general directorate. 4. Oversee the administrative work of the university presidency. 5. Advise the academy’s director general. 6. Meet at least once every six months. Note: At least two-thirds of trustees must attend for a meeting to be quorate. Resolutions require the votes of at least half the members present plus one.
